Fort Donelson National Battlefield

Fort Donelson National Military Park in Dover, TN was the site of a major Civil War battle.  I have been there several times and it always amazes me that I can stand on the river overlook and see virtually the same sights that the soldiers saw in 1862.  There is no development in the area and the only signs of human presence are the boats on the river.  There is also a family of Bald Eagles that in itself makes the trip worthwhile.
