Tonight was just the precursor to Independence Day but I still hoped to get a few fireworks photos. Once it
got dark someone a couple of miles away started firing them up through the gap in the trees. Well,
almost. During the summer months I have one spot on my deck where I have a clear view of the sky. In
this case there was one stupid tree between me and their launch site and they were launching right behind it. I
did manage to get a few decent shots though. Tomorrow night should be better.
All of these photos were shot with a tripod-mounted Nikon D60 and 200mm lens, ISO 400, and f8 with an exposure of
anywhere from 3 to 10 seconds. They were all cropped about half and then resized since they were shot from
a considerable distance away. I hope that tomorrow night someone a little closer is blazing away.
