This is a Windows 95 / Windows NT 4 application that allows you to see what would be required for different sizes of fish tanks. Based on "Accepted" criteria, it will give the amount of filtration, heat, gravel, weight, water change volume, and the maximum number of fish that can safely be kept in the tank. "Standard" tank sizes can be quickly selected from a drop-down list and custom sizes entered manually. The data that you enter can be saved to disk so when you add or remove fish your data file can be quickly updated.

Please keep in mind that there is NOTHING about this application that is exact except for the math. It uses "Accepted" values to calculate heating and filtration, and average values for gravel weight and glass thicknesses. Every tank WILL be different and the values shown on this application should be viewed as general guidelines and not exact values. This app was designed to give a general idea of what would be required to set up a specific tank, and how many fish can be safely maintained in a tank of a specific size.

There is no installation program with this application, it is to simple for that. After downloading the ZIP file, place it in the desired directory on your system and unzip the file. The ZIP file only contains two files; FTANK.EXE and FTANK.HLP. You can then execute the application by double-clicking FTANK.EXE from Explorer or using the "Run" command. If desired you can also create a shortcut to the application in the Folder of your choice.
